i made the change a while ago so i dont recall how i hit the problem ... i 
just remember adding the closing ?> and it worked ... after seeing the new rc 
posted, i went through my old version and made sure i pushed all my changes 
upstream

yeah, i can see that ... i'll just ignore this change as my current dokuwiki 
ive deleted the closing tag and my site still works
