long time no post :-)
I've just made a small change to inc/common.php to allow
prepending custom 'Subject' strings in the email notification:

# diff common.php.org common.php
|<   $subject = '['.$conf['title'].'] '.$subject;
|>   if(!$conf['mailtag']) $subject = '['.$conf['title'].'] '.$subject;
|>   else $subject = $conf['mailtag'].' '.$subject;

Additionally, of course, setting $conf['mailtag'] in local.php
is necessary. Setting, f.e. $conf['mailtag'] = '[Wiki Notification]'
will result in the subject being:
  [Wiki Notification] page changed: ns:pagename

It's usefull if you have a website with forum and wiki, and want
the email notifications look the same.
Did I make any mistakes? Is this valuable enough to go into
dokuwiki? Well, maybe it's at least of some use to anyone... :-)
