[dokuwiki] Re: optimal PHP and Apache settings?

Thank you for your quick reply Andi. I've added some comments below in case there are any DreamHosters (now or in the future) interested in this.

Apache settings. I'm using a DreamHost shared server and need to

DokuWiki don't need PHP5 - running as Apache Modules (not as CGI) should be faster so don't enable these

I've now set up Dokuwiki twice, once with both of these checked and once with both unchecked. They both work, but when I have both of these checkboxes unchecked, I needed to 'chmod 777' the data directory and its contents. How much of a risk is that? My guess is that I can probably do some things to protect my files from other users on this shared ssh-able system, but I haven't yet learned what exactly is best to do. (e.g., maybe using non-default file and directory names would be useful)

[ ] Extra web security (enables mod_security Apache module)

Should be independent of DokuWiki so do what you like

[ ] FastCGI support

Not needed for DokuWiki.

Thank you again, Nancy
