I guess this is a problem for all linux users, so maybe changing the default in the next release is not that bad.
Strictly this is a client problem. The correct way to attempt a remedy is to add a font to the font-family that is suitable for users on systems which don't have any of the existing fonts. Any other modification is likely to have side-effects for other clients.
Help us out. Try out the different fonts available on your system and advise which one is best.
Also dokuwiki looked not that great with firefox on windows xp.
Please be more specific and more helpful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So what isn't "that great" and what changes do you think would make it better.
Fwiw, I don't have a problem with the Windows FF interface. The DW default template tends towards minimalist with a simple colour scheme. That might not be to everyones taste, but it has served DW quite well for a few years now. For those that don't like it there are customisable templates, userstyles and the plethora of prebuilt templates at http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:tpl:templates.
