[dokuwiki] disable write checks

Hey,
I think I've figured out a way to use dokuwiki to at least use it as a
CMS for sourceforge.
1) have a local instance where I make all my edits, updates, etc.
2) set up an rsync to periodically (daily, hourly whatever) push the
changed content to SF
3) look on the site with a happy glow
Is it a pain?...yes...does it work?...no Why not? because dokuwiki
checks to see if certain directories are writable and if not, it
displays an error page (albeit a nicely formatted page) informing them
of that fact.
Is there a way to put dokuwiki in a "read-only" mode so it doesn't care
about writable directories? Of course, it would be wonderful if it also
triggered the edit/login/etc buttons to be unavailable.
