No. Not in the data plugin. You might want to have a look at the
struct plugin, which is the spritual successor of the data plugin. It
recently got the option restrict editing struct data to certain users
and groups.
I’ve been thinking about a “field” system that would separate certain plugin
syntax from page content.
That's what struct does. All data entry is done through a form below
the default editor. No syntax involved.
