The effect looks nice but I fully agree with Chris. Even if I don't
like to implement workarounds for broken browsers, the IE is heavily
used and it would be a mistake to ignore it. I think a translucent
image is not a good choice for the default template.

Unless you re-implement the IE hack to fix PNG's transparency handling. ;-)
