[dokuwiki] Thanks (was: [al-dokuwiki@xxxxxxx: enhancement for xsendfile])

Please bear in mind: It is summer, it is weekend and you sent your former mail only *two days* ago ...!

There were 21 other mails in the meantime.

That does not matter much. I have not yet read all those 21 mails, but it seems those were either "easy" or "urgent" ...

A little "Thanks for the contribution", could encourage ppl to dive
deeper into dokuwikis code and make more contributions later.

So, why do *you* not thank him? ;-)

However, yes, I have to admit: Open source developers take volunteered contribution often too much for granted, seeing that open source lives mainly from contributing. (But OTOH they are only contributors as well. And demanding an answer in a short time is also not very "thankful".)

But I can only say "Thanks for contributing.", not "Thanks for the contribution.", because (in this case) I cannot judge if those contributions are good ones or not or if it will enhance my "DokuWiki life" or not ...

Apart from the "offical thank you mail" from Andi (and a few responses by happy users) when each new DokuWiki version is released, it does not hurt to say it more often: Thanks to all contributors! New contributors are strongly encouraged to share new thoughts / patches / bug reports / etc. (and have patience).
