I finished my plugin for rendering tab delimited tables in wiki text asdokuwiki tables instead (thanks Christoper for pointing out to use theparser_done event to correct section start/end positions!), and have setup a plugin page for it at http://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:tabtables

Hope people other than myself find this plugin helpful, and I hope therearen't any bugs in it =P
