[dokuwiki] Problem uploading files

Hi there!
I just installed DokuWiki on my homepage and I must say that it does
exactly what I want. Nice job there. :)
There is just one small problem: I can't upload files to it. I created
a user, allowed the 'user' grupo to upload, but when I try to upload
some of my projects (say, 'mmm-0.1.tar.gz'), it says "Upload denied.
This file extension is forbidden!".
So far, I tried:
1) Checking 'mime.conf' for the extension. It still there.
2) Renaming the file to 'mmm-0_1.tar.gz' (I thought it could be
getting lost due the dot). No result.
3) Checking directory permissions. I put '777' on data/media and
data/pages. No result.
Ideas?
