Hello,
one of our users asked if the acronym replacement can be extended for plural
forms of the acronyms. For example "CC" and "CCs" (Credit Card). I explained
to him that while in German and English the pluralisation is quite simple
(just add an "s" to the acronym), other languages may have more complicated
pluralisation rules. If a plural form is dependent on the abbreviated words,
automatic pluralisation of acronyms can't be done with a rule-based
algorithm. Now here is my question:
Is it possible to implement rule-based language-specific pluralisation for
languages other than English and German? Or should we just duplicate the
acronym definitions for the plural forms?
Greetings,
Gabriel
