Yep, using the !application notation it does, But I think, the default in the mime.conf is without the "!" (I cant check it right now, because I am on 
the train)

You can uninstall the PDF plugin ;-)

Seriously, what I understand the question is if we should change the
default from inline to attachment for PDFs.
