I guess this would be the best option, but to make this script work you still have to setup some permissions. I'm not convinced DokuWiki really needs a graphical installer. Everybody who want's to run a wiki should be able to edit a simple textfile - if not he/she should consider using a hosted service instead. Well, but I guess if you write such an installer I'll add it ;-)

Thats convoluted logic, the situation with Dokuwiki is nowhere near as bad as
with Confluence (which I had to install a while back), its not that people can
or can't do it, its whether or not they should have to bother. First impressions
are important and a fiddly installation doesn't inspire the same confidence that
a smooth as silk one does ;)
