I followed the installation instructions on the site - copied the downloaded
files to the server - set this up to be the default web site. Went through
the install.php process.
Weird. I thought it might have been a Debian install, there was some
bug report about a missing library. But a "normal" download install
should everything needed. So give us some more info:
* what initial ACL policy did you set?
* does the login succeed? eg. does it say that you're logged in after
logging in?
* since this is a first time setup have you tried deleting the whole
setup and try again?
