Hi,
I installed a dokuwiki and it seemed to run well for about a week, and then
suddenly one day when anyone edited or added a page, the content of that
page would no longer display in the template. The changes *were* being
written to data files, files with changes were there. Recent changes
displayed, however revisions would not. In the end I tried emptying the
cache directory but that made it even worse. I spent a few hours trying to
find and fix the problem, but decided it was easier to create a fresh
installation with no modifications except the arctic template (modified
slightly for left *and* right sidebars, tho one is just google ads) and
basic config and moved the content to the new installation, delete the old
directory and rename the new one to the the old.
I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what might have caused that, because
I've no idea at this point, and worried about it recurring, as the users
tend to panic.
DokuWiki version: Release 2005-09-22e
PHP version 4.3.10
Changelog is writable
Datadir is writable
Attic is writable
Mediadir is writable
Cachedir is writable
conf/users.auth.php is not writable
mb_string extension not available - PHP only replacements will be used
Config:
SMF auth backend, internal rewrite, and useslash and useheading, most the
rest of config standard.
Only the Explain plugin was installed.
This is a virtual hosting environment on an apache/linux server.
I've not enabled rewriting on the new installation yet because I'm unsure if
that had anything to do with it, or perhaps using internal instead of
htaccess?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Leah
