[dokuwiki] Re: Mass assignment of groups in user manager

Hi Gabriel,

Nice addition... thanks for your work ...

I have another idea for an enhancement in the user manager. Now, you can easily create groups and assign users to those groups. However, if you have a list of users that you want to be able to add to a group, in my own opinion, it still takes too many steps. You can't do that without individually selecting the users from the user list, and if you've got a lot of users that can take some time. Your extension makes it easier, but you still need to select all the users. I would love to see a text box under each group in "Group management" that shows the users who are in that group now. Add a user to the list, and they get added to the group (if the user exists of course), or remove the user from the list, and they get removed from the group. Now, you can create groups with a simple cut and paste. If I get a request to add 16 different users to a group, I only need to create the group and paste in the user list, and I'm done.

jas.

Hi,

as promised (some months ago) - here is a patch for the usermanager plugin
that will add a gui to assign groups to all of the selected users. Hopefully
this will make its way into the next release. I'm open for comments and
suggestions.

BTW: Do I have to create a feature request in Flyspray for this?

Greetings,

Gabriel
