[dokuwiki] Markdown support

Hi all,

I am a bit fan of the Mardown syntax [1].

I found a Markdown plugin for DokuWiki [2], but you have to enclose
all Markdown text inside <markdown>...</markdown> tags.

Is there any way to have DokuWiki support Markdown syntax natively?

I'd like to add the native support by myself, unfortunately I don't
think I have enough skills to do it.
