Hmmm could you maybe give some examples about such unnecessary elements? IMHO,
the markup produced by DokuWiki is already very lean compared to other
applications. 

Re removing classes, I think this is always a bad idea, as it could break lots
of templates/plugins. However, again, IMHO the set of classed provided by
DokuWiki are already mimimal compared to other apps. Could you maybe provide
some examples here as well?
