I opt for leaving it as simple as possible and let plugin developers add the
javascript libraries that they want by them selves?
I've been using YUI and EXT and implemented it as a helper type
plugin...martin

These scripts has are big only because of a lot of the comments.
Compressed, events.js is about 4.5Kb.

On other hand, it does not affect any other libraries, you might to be
added to the DW. And jQuery does not provide an interface to create
the custom events of any kind.
