[dokuwiki] How to update to a latest doku wiki?

Dear All,

I noticed that doku wiki doesn't have an on-line update.
So is it possible to enable this feature?

What I'm thinking is how to keep updated with latest version. Simply one
button or simple git pull the source?

If I have installed an old version, how to keep the data and use a new
version? I checked below page, but didn't find any valuable info.
