[dokuwiki] How to escape things like (c)?

Hi,
when I write something like
(a) foo, (b) bar, (c) baz,
dokuwiki renders the (c) as a copyright sign. Is there any possibility
to escape this in the wiki text to prevent the replacement from
happening once? \(c) does not work.
Greetings
Marc
