You have the $conf['hidepages'] setting which can help you for that.
Give it a regexp and it should hide the pagenames matching. Note that
the page is only hidden, but it is still readable by direct request if
one guess its name.

I like this idea, a bit like ~~NOCACHE~~ inhibits caching. It would be
more handy than having to rename a page after it is no longer a draft.
