[dokuwiki] Re: FCKW release 0.3 - wysiwyg even better ;)

hi andi,

BTW. Are there any plan on removing the dependency on Perl? I like
Perl, but a completely selfcontained Plugin would be even cooler. There
are a few PHP HTML parser classes available which might be good enough
to parse FCK created HTML back to WikiSyntax.

i've been thinking about it. for now, most of the development was payed for by a client of the enterprise i work for [1], and the client agreed for os to opensource the result.

a migration away from the perl library is thought of, i just do not know, when i'll find the time to get into it. i'd love to make a universal php library with dialects for different wiki markups.

maybe in february. for now, i focus on finishing up the integration.

i still need to work on the following syntax elements:

  * interwiki
  * window shares
  * footnotes (i have no clue, how i'd like to integrate
    the footnotes in the FCKeditor, in a way that they are
    intuitive in usage)
  * typography
  * tables (not quite where i want them to be, both in the
    editor and in translation)
  * rss/atom feed aggregation (again, no clue how to integrate
    that in an intuitive manner into th FCKeditor)

other things i have to work on:

  * fixing the drafts system
  * i broke most of the JS warnings in the editor (like the
    "are you sure you want to leave" message)

after that, migration of the wiki conversion to php and BOOM: we have a version that can be called 1.0 ;)

if you see other improvements, again, please let me know.

yours.
caillou.
