[dokuwiki] Re: DokuWiki forum

Since everyone is adding their two cents, I've got a hand full of
change to throw in the pot.

I acknowledge that there are to overall topics here.  Issue one around
the desire for a forum for people to talk outside of this mailing
list.  I'm impartial to that topic so I'll go on.

The second topic of forum integration into Dokuwiki.  I agree with the
bottom line that Andi expresses quite often.  Dokuwiki does wiki
things very well and we should keep on track with that without making
Dokuwiki do everything out there.  I also agree that a
discussion/forum is something that compliments a wiki very well.  I
often desire one when working on pages with they other people I work
with.  They ask me about it just as many do here.

I think that a consensus should be reached on picking a forum package
or two that many of us like that would partner well with Dokuwiki. 
Then, as many have suggested, work to get Dokuwiki integrated very
well with them through plugins or something.  I would hope that we
could even go as far as working with the authors of the selected forum
software to work the integration from their side as well and create a
partnership.

Bottom line is Wikis and Forums go hand in hand and enhance eachother.
 Lets find a forum package that shares the philosophies of Dokuwiki of
small/simple/clean then work TOGETHER with them to integrate both
cleanly.  Then it would be a choice of the end user to enable this
feature or not.  Both products would shine on their own for what they
are, and would compliment eachother.
