Hi Todd,

The plugin suggestion (yours and Vinh's) is a very intriguing one. I
like the idea of making a plugin but I'm unsure how that would work
based on the extension of the file (e.g., kicks in when the file it's
trying to parse is an .[ix]html file). My suspicion, based on the one
or two (simple) plugins I've written, is that it'd be hard to integrate
with the index, etc., so it's listed as a normal file in the index. It
was easier (for me :) to just hack the source but I'd love some pointers
on going the plugin route with it, as well.

As for how the html pages work with Dokuwiki, from my experience so far,
it works absolutely perfectly. All the features (templates, editing,
search, plugins, etc.) have been fully functional on all the sites I've tried.

One of the main reasons I need a solution like this is that I'm one of
the principals of http://www.madsci.org and I'm trying to convert Madsci
to a Dokuwiki format. All of the questions/answers from scientists on
Madsci are generated as html files. I'd like to maintain some of the
backend logic programs we have (that allow scientists and moderators to
pick and choose answers) and just change the presentation logic to
Dokuwiki (in fact, if anyone wants to volunteer to help with that,
please do let me know! :).

All the best,

Rick.
