[dokuwiki] Alternate index formatting

Does anybody have code lying around that would format the index page in a different manner?

I've got a site that's making almost no use of namespaces, so the index is just one huge list, which is kind of annoying. (And yeah, I know that technically this is exactly what it's supposed to be doing. They decided not the use namespaces and now I'm stuck with it.)

I was thinking of maybe breaking the list into collapsible letter sections, for example.

Thoughts?
