[dokuwiki] Adding tool tips

I see several pages on my wiki and Dokuwiki with underlined acronyms.
Flying the cursor over these brings up a tool tip with the term spelled
out. But it does not show up on all terms that should have this feature.
For example, SMTP does, but NNTP does not.

I cannot find anything on the Dokuwiki site that explains what this is
or how it works. Nor can I find any reference to what I have to do to
add the missing acronyms. Am I missing it?
