No no. sorry you had to go through that very descriptive explanation.
The issue is that I selected less than 2 bars to begin with. I will
determine exactly how long a selection is possible and report back.
Incidentally, when the clip is too long even though a bit under 2
bars, the message from CT is something like:
"unable to find segments, maybe the selection is not loud enough'
that certainly is not true.
I did as Bill mentioned, select a much smaller section and it worked
just fine...

You see…. V vocal actually takes your audio region, and actually makes it in
to nodes, which means in simple pitch fragments.
If there is too much to select, then its too much for the plug in to handle,
and this is when you are informed that the segment is too large.
This goes for any pitch correction software where some plug in’s might
handle a little more to process, but not much more then a few bars if you
want a more accurate result.
This is because there are too many variables in vocal pitches, that if one
was to take a whole piece of music, it would be too much for the plug in
because when you actually sing your not always singing on key, and then
there are glissando’s to think about, and other things like grieving and all
the stuff.
Think about it in the sense of quantizing, your better off to select two or
three bars at a time if you want to have more tightness.
One day perhaps this software will be more accommodating but for now I
suppose we have to take what we can get, and I don’t care what any one says,
but this goes for Logic, Protools, and samplitude.
Unfortunately all of these softwares have their limitations, and there is no
magic box that exists that is until artificial intelligence controls us, OMG
isn’t that a scary thought, and I actually taking my masters in the field
of Educational Technology lol.
