[ddots-l] trouble with from and through times

The one thing that has disappointed me so far about sonar 8.5, is the problem with the from and through.

I'm hoping someone will have something to say about this... For some reason, when I set from and through and select multiple tracks, it never works out right.

When exporting I set my from to bar 2, and my through at say bar 90, the end of the project might be bar 92, because of extra ring out time or what ever. After I listen to the exported file, I have all 92 bars of the project, the count in at bar 1, which I didn't select, and the extra 2 bars on the end.

I have also noticed the same problem when trying to delete. I wanted to remove 8 bars out of the middle of a tune earlier today, so I selected the from and through with F 9 and F 10, used the key stroke control inter, (pressing inter 3 times quickly), and in the delete options selected to delete events in tracks, and to delete hole. After all, I wanted to just get rid of the 8 bars. What I got for my effort was sonar deleting everything in the project from start to finish.
I performed an undo and got all my audio back...

Before you ask, I made sure nothing was selected, set the from and through again, and got the same thing.

So what gives? Is sonar sucking this bad, or am I just missing something? Never had this problem in any other version...

I had to select each track 1 at a time and remove the 8 bars of audio. It kind of reminded me of the days when we spliced tape... Almost like going back to the cave man days...

Thanks for any help,
Shawn
