I have the xs, and the strings are not sounding in audio as they do in midi.

If you are recording your midi keyboard and have everything set right, it
should sound identical as it does originally. If you are recording a fat
string patch, you should hear the stereo imaging of the sample. You have the
motif es, don't you? most of those sounds have good stereo imaging. Of
course, bass or some of the vintage rhodes sounds will be mono.

Setting it to stereo. I just learned today though from someone on midimag
that it could still sound mono even if you record stereo until you start
panning stuff.

When you record you rmidi track, are you setting the input of the audio
track to a stereo source, or are you recording it to two separate mono tracks?

What do you have the outputs of the fa66 connected to? If they are
connected to a pair of inputs on your mixer, do you have the inputs hard panned
to opposite sides?

            Hello,

I'm recording instrument tracks in Sonar with the input of the
track being stereo. I'm using the edirol fa66 as my soundcard. I know all my
connections are correct, and all my settings in sonar for playback and
recording are set to the edirol. For some reason though, the tracks still sound
mono, (with the instruments sounding in the middle rather than surrounding.) I
hear this through mixing headphones. Any suggestions?

            Thanks.
