Well, perhaps there's some annoying little checkbox that you've
accidentally/inadvertently activated, that's causing this irritation!

I know its a bore, but when crap like this happens to me, I trawl thru
everything in the SF toolbar...

No. I just double checked, and it's on "highlighted."

I know its a stupid suggestion, but have you, by any chance, pressed the
JAWS key + the letter 'S', to make JAWS say quote ALL unquote?

      Hello,

When i play a file in soundforge, jaws just keeps speaking numbers while
the file is playing, and it won't shut up. smile. I'm sure i've accidentally
enabled something that's making jaws continuously read those numbers, which i
assume are meters or something. How do I stop this? I tried disabling the play
meters, but then the f11 and f12 don't work when i want to read meters.

      Thanks for any help.
