Stacy:
You can insert any effects on the audio track that is carrying the soft synth, just like regular audio tracks. You can add sendds to them so that you can apply effects that are inserted into busses too. You don't need to record the soft synth track as audio unless you are conserving cpu resources, in which case you would want to freeze it, which will create a wave file that will be played by the audio track.

I want to have the midi track recorded as an audio track simultaneously so that I can use the audio effects of the audio track as the audio effects seem to be much better.

Am I missing something here?

why would you want to do this?
the audio track is intended to serve as an audio output for your soft synth not to record on it. if what you want is converting a midi track to audio you can freeze the track or bounce to track.
please explain more.

Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the audio track associated with a midi track is "failing to arm""? I'm using a midi soft synth and the midi track is arming but the audio track won't arm even though the input and output are set to reflect the soft synth.

Thankyou
