actually said that the second partition was empty on his hard drive. Lets
clarify things a bit here. Partitioning hard drives is fine for running
separate operating systems etc. However, using a partitioned hard drive
wouldn't be good for say, putting your OS on one partition and putting your
Sonar projects on the second partition. This is because as Gord pointed out,
the head has to constantly move between the partitions in order to access the
data which is held on both partitions.

I have 4 gb ddr 2,with core 2 duo procesor,and 500 gb hard drive. No it's
not dedycated,i have 2 partitions,on first i have cake walk and other programs.
the sekond now is empty. My buffer size now is 140.

Well, you may want to give us an idea of your computer system specs which
will help us analyze your problem. How much memory do you have? What kind of
processor are you using? And what buffer setting are you using wth your sound
card? ALso, do you have a dedicated hard drive for your audio?
