am i wrong in assuming that the second partition won't make a difference 
while is not being used?
he said that it is empty.

Well, running two partitions on a single physical drive is actually slower 
than just using one large partition because the head of the drive has to 
constantly search back and forth between the two drives.  This could be 
causing your problems.

    Well, you may want to give us an idea of your computer system specs 
which will help us analyze your problem.  How much memory do you have?  What 
kind of processor are you using?  And what buffer setting are you using wth 
your sound card?  ALso, do you have a dedicated hard drive for your audio?
