Hi, Cameron, As you may recall, I posted here recently a warning to current CakeTalking users not to apply the 8.5.2 patch yet. Any scripts that try to configure JAWS to run with SONAR will need to be tweaked to deliver access to SONAR 8.5.2. As others have pointed out, this list is the place to find help for CakeTalking. As you are not running CT with SONAR 8.5, you're best source for help would be Cakewalk Music Software (the company, and the makers of the other access technology you listed. Maybe you can run a system restore and revert back to a point before you installed 8.5.2 if there is no other way to uninstall. Hope you can sort it all out soon. When CakeTalking for SONAR 8.5.2 is released, you might find the new features worth the cost of an upgrade. Hi. yes, point taken, I posted there as well. But, not sure if this is a sonar issue in general with jaws, not just the particular script package being used. (and I am a cake talking user as well, just not for sonar eight.) Cameron. -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kevin Gibbs Sent: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 10:14 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: sonar 8.5.2 patch issues? Since Jsonar competes with Cake Talking, it's probably not the most polite thing you could do to place inquiries about a competitor's product on this list serve. You might tgo to the MIDI Mag list instead. -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Cameron Sent: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 8:03 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] sonar 8.5.2 patch issues? Hi all. Using Win xp pro, jaws ten, j sonar, hsc, (latest version of both), and sonar 8.5.2. After installing the patch, things have gone to hell in a handbasket. None of my hot spots work, I can't read any fields in any dialogues, even the save as or export dialogues, etc. All of my settings from sonar 8.5.1 are the same. Whenever you try to use a hot spot command, it says hot spot failed, window could not be found. (even though I am in the correct window, like the dimension pro properties dialogue for example.) And no text fields work. Not even the modify tempo box. Is this just a case of waiting for the j sonar and hsc cats to catch up? Or is this a larger issue? I'm assuming I can't just uninstall the update correct? Oh and by the way, my display settings have not been changed so that's not it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Cameron.
