[ddots-l] Re: sonar 4 and vsts

Because, with Directixer, it is possible to run a DXI with a generic interface.
 Doing this can in
most cases expose the .VST's parameters. More importantly than that, you can
actually read them and
find out what they are actually doing. For example, you can read the state of
a slider and what
setting it is on.

Whilst I appreciate what Gordon said about the Cakewalk .VST adapter being a
viable alternative, I
must sound a slight note of caution . using .VST instruments through the
inspector view will in
most cases expose the various sliders. What the Cakewalk adapter won't always
tell you is what
state the various sliders you are looking at are in. Where as, with
Directixer, I can load up a
VST in generic mode, move the slider and find out what state it is in. A good
example where I
found this helpful was with the Wave Arts Final plug. I could read the sliders
in the inspector
view however, I couldn't tell whither the slider that related to bit rate was
on 24, or 16.

better? Can you please explain why it is better? I have only used the cakewalk
VST wrapper so far.
