Hellow Hayley, is it possible that you might not have unarmed the track with the music and axidentley recorded your vocal on bothe tracks? i'm trying to think of what could bee rong.... maby it is just a freek thing. the other day i some how lost a fiddel track on a clients project and fore the life of me dont know what wint rong. i guess it was just one of those things. if you are still hearing your vocal whin you have it muted and the music soloed thin you probley recorded on 2 tracks. some people find it easyer to open the record mode options menu and check over ride to allways record over the last take. if you do this and record over some thing like, sey your music track is still armed thin you wont hear the music, this will tell you you forgot to unarm that track and you can undo your recording by pressing controll z. i wish i could help you more but that is all i can think of, at the time. if you fix the problem or have any questions you can right me off list. Hope it all works out for you. Hi Sean, thanks very much for your reply and advice. I have tried what you suggested and it doesn't make a difference. I made sure i Unarmed all tracks like you said, i can solo the second vocal track no problem, but when i solo the first one and mute the second i'm still hearing my vocal. I put another vocal down on track three to see what happens, and i can solo that from track two, but again, everything is being recorded on to track one and i can't hear this separately. it didn't happen when i first started using Sonar, so i don't know if i've altered a setting somewhere in the program or on my soundcard while i was experimenting. I hope that all of this makes sense! Thanks Hayley ----- Original Message ----- From: Shawn Brock To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, September 16, 2005 12:09 AM Subject: [ddots-l] soloing? Hayley, if i understand you correctly, you are still hearing the vocal whin you solo the music? sence you only have a track of music and a vocal, is it possabel that bothe tracks are soloed? something i allways use to do whin i closed a project was to un solo all tracks by pressing the lettor s three times, and unarm all tracks by pressing the lettor a three times. so whin i opend the project i would not wonder where did this go, wate i thought i had a vocal on there? oh god what happend? it is a good habit to use. but any how... if the music is the only track soloed, and you only have 2 tracks try pressing m on the vocal track to mute it. you can allways un mute by pressing the lettor m twice while on that track or m three times to unmute all tracks. i hope this helps, good luck, and let us know if this fixes the problem.
