Hi,

Do you ever get audio from your Fast Track? If not, check under Options |
Audio and make sure that SONAR lists your Fast Track as the playback and
recording master in the general options screen.

Have you read the new document called "How to Set up Your Workstation"? It
comes with the latest version of CakeTalking. It is a thorough and
entertaining explanation of how audio and MIDI signals flow. It is in the
"Tutorial" folder under CakeTalking 8.5 submenu in the Start Menu.

Regards,
Bill

Subject: [ddots-l] silent hardware output

Hello Friends,
Please forgive the nature of this question as know it is quite the
beginner level, but received message that makes no sense to me. When going
to a sample file of sonar's to play, I receive a message saying "The
following tracks and busses are currently assigned to a silent hardware
output. The items listed below will be silent in your project until their
outputs are assigned to an appropriate hardware output.
It then lists "master" and "metrinome" as being those items.
It appears as though my Fast Track Ultra is selected in both the in and out
in track view and the interfase is on and appears to be getting power.
Please tell me what this message means if possible and any idea what I may
have forgotten to do. I appreciate any help and very sorry to bother you
guys but perhaps someone can have mercy and write me offlist. Sincerely,
Dave
