Hello:
Up until a few weeks ago, I had only recorded in Sonar with one microphone.
I recorded my bands stuff separately and either sent the instrument straight
in through my Audio Buddy pre-amp or miced it with one microphone going
through my pre-amp. My pre-amp has two mic inputs and two quarter inch
inputs, but you can only use one of each or two of the same. Now, a few
weeks ago I recorded a live band with two mics going through my pre-amp and
it worked out fine. What I want to know is how in Sonar I am able to record
with numerous microphones (like 6 or 8 or 10). Now, I know that I cannot do
this with my audio buddy pre-amp, but I am currently doing a co-op at a
recording studio. I was curious if there is any specific hardware that would
hook up to my delta sound card which would allow me to hook up numerous
microphones? It may be available to me and I am trying to find things that I
am able to do at this co-op. In Sonar with my delta card, I realize that I
have the input options of right m-audio delta 1/2, left m-audio 1/2, and
stereo m-audio delta 1/2; as well as right, left, and stereo, for delta 3/4.
If I was able to use hardware that allowed for the hook-up for 10
microphones for example, how would I set the inputs in Sonar so that
everything could come in through different tracks?
This may be a lot of questions, but I want to make this co-op the best
experience possible and in order to do so, I would like to start recording
with more than two microphones so that I can do some more mixing and can
work with an entire drum set for example. Previously, I just miced a drumset
with one microphone and I would like to be able to use 6 mics or something
so that I could turn down the snare or turn up a high hat, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Check out my bands stuff at

And let me know what you think.
