[ddots-l] Re: recording gear and confusion please help!

What midi gear do you have? Your midi gear goes in to the midi interface.
If you have a mixer, this you can use along with the delta 10-10 for your
audio. If you have a controller and modules, the setup would go some thing
like this, i don't know how many pieces of midi gear you have but this is
just an example. controller goes in to midi port one of lets say a 4 midi
port u s b midi interface. remember that you have 4 midi ports for both
midi in, and 4 midi ports for midi out. Lets say you have 3 modules, 2 are
synth modules, and the last one is a drum machine. midi ports 2 and 3 take
care of both of your synth modules, and midi port 4 takes care of your drum
machine.

In sonar, you first setup the midi devices, you'll have to decide what midi
port has which piece of midi gear connected to it. Your midi controller
goes on midi port 1, your synth modules use midi ports 2 and 3, and midi
port 4 you would use that for your drum machine.
next, you'll have to go to midi devices, here is where you would choose each
midi device starting with midi port one controller midi port 1 on the left
hand side of the screen there are ports and 16 midi channels for each port.
port 1 channels 1-16 port 1 midi port 2 synth module 1 port2 channels 1-16
you would do the same for the second synth module, and for the drum machine
the same thing would apply. I hope that this helps.
