[ddots-l] Re: question about playing fast solos while using sonar

Hello:
While you may think you are playing the string parts accurately, often the
attack on the strings makes you rush to compensate while you are playing,
it's just instinctive. I often have to be aware of laying back when
recording instruments with longer attacks.

Subject: [ddots-l] question about playing fast solos while using sonar

Hi All:

When I play some fast string solos from the Motif ES while using sonar. It
seems to have a problem quantizing the fast string runs. The beat is a 4/4,
and I'm trying quantization between 16 and 32 triplets. I can't seem to get
it right on the money, and the attack level on the string sound which I am
using is pretty strong. If I use highhats from a drum kit and play them at
the same speed as the strings, there is no problem with the highhats
quantizing perfectly. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

Omar
