Subject: [ddots-l] question about playing fast solos while using sonar

Hi All:

There's probably a slight delay in the attack envelope of the string
sample involved. Usually, you simply have to play slightly ahead of the
beat to compensate for this.
Kevin

When I play some fast string solos from the Motif ES while using sonar.
It seems to have a problem quantizing the fast string runs. The beat is
a 4/4, and I'm trying quantization between 16 and 32 triplets. I can't
seem to get it right on the money, and the attack level on the string
sound which I am using is pretty strong. If I use highhats from a drum
kit and play them at the same speed as the strings, there is no problem
with the highhats quantizing perfectly. Any suggestions would greatly be
appreciated.

Thanks.

Omar
