Yes, I've had a c3 for several years now and it sounds great. I also have
their tube version, the t3. I really like it but the only drag with that one
is that the pattern select is on the power supply box, a 12 position switch.
At present, I don't have the power supply inside my vocal booth, which would
probably make more sense if I wanted to try different patterns for a specific
situation.

Yup, have the Studio Projects C1 here. It's a cardioid mic. It sounds like
a numan u87. If you want the multi pattern version then, go for the C3. It
sounds the same as the C1 but, has more positions. Will probably get a set of
C3's here at some point.

I heard of a $300 mic, the project studio c1 or c3, that is supposedly just
like a numan! I think Phil uses or has one, so he might know the exact model...
I remember reading about it from a link that he or somebody else provided a
while ago.

Hi all. I'm thinking of purchasing a good quality vocal microphone for
myself for studio recording purposes. I hear and read that capasitor or
microphones are used these days instead of dynamic microphones and that they
use phantom power. I understand those things but now I must purchase a good
one. The shops hear don't keep stock of those kind of microphones so it is very
difficult to get one to test with. I just wondered what some of you guys are
using? I know you get mikes that are very expensive like the numan u87 and so
on but I don't have that kind of money haha. I think this can be a gnice
discussion.

    Kind regards
