Subject: [ddots-l] purchasing a board and sound card
Hello:
I am now highly considering purchasing a new sound card along with a
mixing board. From my previous posts and inquiries on here as well as some
other research, I was thinking of getting a delta 1010 sound card along
with some sort of mackie board. Up to this point I have only been able to
record with two mics at a time and have only been able to record two
tracks simaltaneously while I would like to be able to record with
multiple mics at the same time into multiple tracks. As I understand, the
delta 1010 has 8 inputs and 8 outputs so I would be able to record 8
tracks simaltaneously with it. I am looking at various mackie boards and
was curious which one you guys think would be my best choice. Also, how
would I go about purchasing this stuff? I am in Ontario, Canada, but have
never shopped for this stuff so am not really sure where I would go to
purchase it. Perhaps someone knows of some good stores for sound cards and
mixing boards or perhaps there are some places online I should buy from or
maybe dancing dots sells the stuff I am looking for? I am very anxious to
step forward in my recording set up, but want to make the best choices
possible. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
