Can you check the event list view to see if you have MIDI events recorded
after you've recorded a track in Sonar?

Subject: [ddots-l] problems getting soft synth sounds through external
soundcard
Hi all,
I am experiencing problems getting any soft synth sounds
from the external sound card. I am running CT 8.5 with an
M-Audio Fast-Track Ultra external sound card.
I have one MIDI cable coming out of the MIDI out of a
Yamaha PSR keyboard and it goes to the MIDI input on
external soundcard. The M-audio drivers are installed. I
am using the headphone jack on the external souncard and
running a quarter inch jack from the soundcard going to an
external amplifier. I also used the CT triple A 16 track
template which in theory is supposed to play the TTS1 soft
synth when I am running sonar and when I am on the
corresponding track for the TTS1 soft synth.
The interesting thing is that I can play the cakewalk
projects that come with sonar through the external
soundcard and I can also hear the clicks from when I start
a recording, but I just cam produce any soft synth sounds
through the external sound card while playing the keys on
the MIDI keyboard. Also, no soft synth sounds can come out
of the internal sound card since Jaws uses the laptop?s
internal soundcard. The other interesting thing is that
when I press a key on the Music keyboard, a light turns on
the soundcard which says receiving MIDI input, and the
light blinks as you press the keys on the music keyboard,
but no sound comes from the soft synth.
Anyone who can help me trouble shoot the above described
situation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Iván
