Sorry about that. The original notice was found in Guild Briefs, an online
newsletter of the Guild for the Blind of Chicago. See
http://www.guildfortheblind.org/GFTB/guildfortheblind.org/contactus.htm for
their contact information. I tried to find the exact notice on their site
but failed. A Google search shows references to similar listings in other
newsletters but I failed to find a page for the organization itself.
Perhaps it has gone out of business.

Bill

Hi Bill,
The information you sent us about the Association of Blind Citizens is I
think confusing.
Both, the email address and the phone number are not working.
Could you check and send us the right one?
Thank you,
Berhane

Subject: [ddots-l] [off-topic]: Grant to Fund Acquisition of Assistive
Technology for U.S. Residents
I have just come across this notice in an online newsletter I received
recently. I have no further information and have not dealt directly with
the association named below. However, it sounds promising and I encourage
those who are interested to follow up directly with this group.
Grant to Fund Acquisition of Assistive Technology
The Association of Blind Citizens offers funding to cover 50% of the cost of
adaptive devices and software for eligible applicants. The products must
retail between $200 and $6,000. To be eligible you must have a family income
of less than $50,000 and cash assets of less than $20,000.
Applicants must be legally blind and U.S. residents. Deadline is June 30,
Sept. 30 and Dec. 31 for each grant period (3 per year). For information,
email atf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or contact Paul Wohlfeil at 217-785-9341.

Bill
