[ddots-l] more understanding adding and cutting frequencies

Hi, in the previous e-mail, you mentioned cutting and boosting a certain
frequency. In practical terms, how is that achievable. In other words, me
sitting at my computer using sonar or sound forge, want to cut a certain
frequency range, how do I make the first step? where do I go, what do I
select?
Even for the EQS in the sonatus prugin in sonar, sometimes I know I need to
remove some high or low end frequency, but I don't know how to work the
plugin, or even the concept to get the job done. I know when I have too much
bass that rumbles, I need to remove some low end, but again, what are the
parameters should I mess around with to achieve that please?
