[ddots-l] Re: midi mapper

Connect our Motif to the stereo channel, not the two mono channels
panned hard. That should do it.

Hi,

I am using a small mackey. Its the one they sell for about
a hundred bucks and has two microphone inputs, one in channel 1 and
one in channel 2, both with phantom power if required. Then there
are two sterio channels, each of which has a mono input. I have the
main outs connected to channels 1 and 2 of my delta 1010. When I use
the mixer for dj engagements, I plug my computer into these two mono
inputs and put the pan on one all the way right and the pan on the
other all the way left, thus yielding a nicely separated sterio image
through the speakers. I assume that connecting the motif to this
little guy should be done the same way to achieve a sterio track in
sonar, but it doesn't seem to work out that way as I cannot get
sterio in my projects.

I have a large 24 channel mackey in my basement, which, when
I have the space and the extra muscle around, I'd like to move up
into my studio, though its way way more complicated than I now know
how to use properly. That's why I thought I'd start out simply using
the little mackey.
