I just checked. It doesn't sound like it's staying on beat at all.

First we need to find out for sure whether this is the problem, , so listen
to the metronome and if this is in fact the problem, it should click in time
but not on the beat, maybe a waltz affect?

      Hi Omar,

The midi file may have been mistakenly step recorded whilst set to eight
triplets.
if they then played a bass drum then tap three times on the rest key,
then hit a snare and again three times on the rest key, this would start to
build a 4/4 time signiture.
They would have to take the tempo up to 120 to get the tempo of the song
to sound right.

Well, the maths work, it maybe the answer?

        Hello,

I have a midi file which i'd downloaded from the internet. The song
should be playing at about 80 bpm at a 4/4 time signature. However, when I hit
record, or start the metronom, the metronom is playing way faster than what the
beat is playing at, (metronom = 120 bpm.) I've tried deleting any tempo change
controlers that might be inserted, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Any
thoughts?

        Thanks.
