I read through the Sibelius Manual, and there seem to be a few things I
don't understand. For example, changing the percentage of the Rit and Accel,
is that like "Coarse Tuning" and "Fine Tuning" within Sonar?

Annabel,

You might get more response if you send this to the Sib-Access list.

Another suggestion is that you edit the characteristics of accel and rit in
the house styles menu. I'm no expert, but I think you'll need to look under
the text styles. There's somewhere that you can change the percentage amount
that accel and rit affect the beginning tempo.

Best thing for you to do is to read the Sibelius 5 user guide and look for
anything that talks about modifying the accel and rit text styles.

That's your homework assignment for Monday.

Dave

With one of my scores that I wrote in Sibelius, I tried putting an accel
where something speeds up, and a rit where it slows down, but unfortunately,
Sibelius gets carried away. In other words, I only want it to speed up or
slow down gradually, but it goes too fast or too slow most of the time. What
do I do?

I asked this question on Friday, but I didn't get a response so I'm
sending it again in case it was missed.

I have a song that I'm working on in which the chorus is in tempo and the
verses are in rubato. How would I accomplish recording this to the metronome
in Sonar? I was thinking maybe I should do fit to improvisation but I would
like the parts that are in time to be locked solid. Ideas anyone?

Could I just record everything in time and then speed up and slow down the
tempo when I'm done? This would work if I was using a midi keyboard but I'm
playing guitar on this one.

May the peace of God which passes all understanding gard your heart and
mind in Christ Jesus.

God bless you!
